The shop at the Rijksmuseum is worth a detour: Bags with zip closing in various sizes; water-repellent, jacquard woven fabric and leather based on a table runner with a strewn floral pattern woven by an anonymous artist from the Northern Netherlands around 1650; a cushion cover is also part of the collection. For jewelry consider those designed and made by silversmith Foufke Hartog, inspired by jewels worn in Holland in the 17th century. The use of color, design and choice of precious and semi-precious stones are based on jewels worn by figures depicted in Rembrandt's paintings. A fleece scarf (Avercamp) is based on details from 'Winter Landscape with Skaters' by Hendrick Avercamp (c. 1608). There's a Deltfware moneybox (playing the hoop and sledging) based on 17th-century tiles depicting children at play in the Rijksmuseum collection in addition to a Delft blue tulip vase DIY kit made of recyclable plastic (9.9 inches): It can be built without glue or tools, and the vase can be filled with water. All the prices are in euros that can be translated to US dollars by use of a currency converter.
