Senate Passes Bills to Encourage Women in Entrepreneurship, STEM
On February 14, the Senate passed, by unanimous consent, H.R. 255, the Promoting Women in Entrepreneurship Act, sponsored by Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-CT), and H.R. 321, the Inspiring the Next Space Pioneers, Innovators, Researchers, and Explorers (INSPIRE) Women Act, sponsored by Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA). The House approved the bills on January 10 (see The Source, 1/13/17); Senate passage clears the measures for the president’s signature.
