Roberta McReynolds retired after an 18 year career in the commercial printing industry. She particularly enjoys activities involving children, the elderly, and cancer patients & survivors, who impart new perspectives on life. Gardening, art and volunteer service fill the hours and serve to fuel her life-long passion for writing. Rediscovering the world through the eyes of her inner child keeps her imagination fresh.

Grandman's Boxes: The Puzzling Newspaper Article
"Grandma took her scissors out of the sewing box and clipped a one-inch square piece out of the newspaper in the 1940’s and tucked it away. I married a railroader who enjoys model train shows. If those two things hadn’t happened, and plus countless other events in-between, would I have ever held that book in my hands 65 years after things were first put into motion? I wonder if the universe has a Plan B, just in case?" more »
Art With a Message
I had decided on painting a long, horizontal seascape seen from a low angle with long, late afternoon shadows. Wet sand in the foreground cradled a bottle washed up on the shoreline and inside the corked bottle was a rolled up, weathered piece of paper. more »
Crossing the Line
Broad lines painted in the brilliant color of a yellow school bus sectioned off areas on the warehouse floor. The reception area was on one side of the cautionary line and the work area was on the opposite side. My face reddened with embarrassment: I had stepped across a clearly defined boundary. I broke the rules. My actions threatened the space and comfort zone of these dear, gentle souls. They knew the rules and I fumbled around totally ignorant. more »
