The tree is decorated, the cards have been written, the holiday menus are calculated. What more would one want? Okay, we're Sinatra fans so listening to the new Reprise compilation of 18 of the Chairman of the Board's Christmas songs, The Frank Sinatra Christmas Collection, could be that final desired item.

We're fans of Nelson Riddle's arrangements and made note of those tracks in particular but we did appreciate the phrasing of I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm. (The Riddle selections are Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, The Christmas Song, and White Christmas.)

Included are some good-humored duets and welcome reminders of Sinatra's work with that other legend, Bing Crosby, as well as choral work by Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians. A number of selections are from Reprise-era holiday recordings, recognized as being the era of Sinatra's golden recording years.

Settle back, picture that Sinatra demeanor (or as they term it, 'tude) and enjoy.
