Susan Samuels Drake's book Fields of Courage: Remembering César Chávez and the People Whose Labor Feeds Us (Many Names Press, 1999) draws on the 31 years that she knew the labor leader. She freelances from her Soquel, California, home about her varied passions, both serious and frivolous, and most recently was published in The Progessive.
